Drinks Are On Me: Get To Know A Grape: Albarino

  • Lorraine · 1 year ago
Have you tried Adegas D'Altamira? Almost only Albarino that does not undergo malolactic fermentation -- so it is fresh and creamy! They have one called Brandal, retails around $16.99 and another called Seleccion, retails around $28.99. Importer is Quintessential, out of Napa, CA, same importer as for above Mar de Frades.

just a small comment : it is actually albariño (the letter ñ is considered different from n and can be written ny if you don't have the ~sign; by the way, in Portuguese ñ is replaced by nh but pronounced the same as "ny"). The albariño wines from Spain are from D.O. (=appellation) Rías Baixas or "low deltalands".
Enjoy Spanish wine (I'm Belgian but live in Spain : the best of both worlds of beer and wine!),
