Drinks Are On Me: Are Chicagoans Done With Deep Dish Pizza?

  • Jim Jeffers · 2 years ago
An entire thin crust pizza is the equivalent of one slice of deep dish. I was raised in Chicago, I'm sure someone good out there is making deep. I actually never ate at Uno's until I moved out of Chicago, strange huh?

Jim, I've eaten at Uno's plenty of times but I notice they've now rebranded as "Uno's Chicago Grill" and are distancing themselves from just thick-crust pizza. They now offer thin crust also but I've never tried it.

Chicagoans rarely if ever eat deep dish. The real story behind deep dish is it was invented by a guy from texas for a gimick in the tourist area downtown. Real Chicago pizza is a round, crispy thin crust cut into squares.

Really, Mark? I grew up just outside of Chicago and often enjoyed deep dish pizza.
